Making your own drink recipe is super simple. Chia will hydrate in almost anything that’s not too acidic. (You can’t make chia gel in pure lemon juice, for example) One tablespoon of dry chia seeds makes 9 tablespoons of chia gel. With a 1 to 9 ratio, you can see how buying dry chia & then hydrating it yourself can save you so much money. You can make the gel first with plain filtered water (Just add seeds & water in a 9 to 1 ratio, shake or stir to prevent clumping & wait 15 minutes for gel to form) or allow dry seeds to gel in your favorite fruit juice mixture or tea.

You can add even more fiber & freshness when you use fresh fruits instead of juices or concentrates alone in your drinks. A little fruit puree, like blueberry or strawberry in some unsweetened apple or white grape juice with the chia gel & you’re ready to go. (After all, the flavor of a fruit is throughout the whole thing, not just in the juice) You can also make great drinks with watermelon (just put it in the blender or food processor & mix in the chia seeds-how about a twist of lime, or strawberry too?), thawed frozen fruit (so season doesn’t matter) and even healthy coconut water. Hype Energy Drink

The flavor mirrors that of energy drink giant, Red Bull, but is much sweeter and has a hint of blueberry to make it go down smooth. The aftertaste is pleasant with no traces of that nasty medicinal flavor that so many other energy drinks unfortunately have.

There are four flavors to choose–coffee, mocha, mint chocolate, and caramel.

The price for an on-the-go frapp is about $2.50. It’s a little more expensive than your average energy drink($2.00) but that shouldn’t come as a surprise considering it’s from Starbucks (all their drinks are more expensive).

Overall, the Starbucks frappuccino (whether made in-shop or picked up in-store) is a delicious beverage that is sure to perk up your day. It combines the simple pleasure of a frosty treat with the uber-caffeination of all Starbucks coffee drinks. Some might call it the best of both worlds.

Pliny the Elder wrote about the Roman way of producing wine and growing vines in his work, ‘Historia Naturalis‘ translated as Natural History. He wrote that Italian wine was the best in the world, or at least in the known world.

However, the Romans and their compatriots cornered the wine market, disallowing other competitors from other countries outside of what is now called Italy. So other countries such as France, Spain and Portugal were not allowed, officially, to produce wine.

According to Pliny, by the middle of the second century BC, wine was an important commodity. However, as the Roman Empire grew, the export value of wine would diminish, as grapes were cultivated in other parts of the empire, notably in what is now France and the Iberian peninsula.

The Roman wine industry fell into decline along with the empire. Wine production continued, but it fell out of favour until the Renaissance, when there was a revival of interest in classical culture.
